Seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep and repair of our facilities. In this role, you will coordinate maintenance activities, develop schedules, and manage both the technical and administrative aspects of facility maintenance. Your leadership will ensure our property—including buildings and grounds—remains in excellent condition while meeting quality, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Inspections & Preventative Maintenance:
Inspect facilities periodically to identify issues and determine necessary maintenance.
Develop, prepare, and enforce weekly maintenance schedules.
Respond to emergency maintenance calls and troubleshoot repair issues.
Team Coordination & Management:
Delegate tasks and coordinate efforts among maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of work.
Assist external trades (e.g., electricians, plumbers) during installations, repairs, or maintenance tasks.
Communicate plans for facility improvements and assign tasks accordingly.
Administrative Duties:
Perform administrative tasks such as entering work orders into the CMMS system for historical data tracking.
Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
Contribute to the development of maintenance budgets and ensure compliance.
Project & Vendor Management:
Participate in coordination of projects, such as renovations or event setups.
Manage relationships with multiple vendors and schedule third-party repair services as needed.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Experience & Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant maintenance experience.
Extensive knowledge of a variety of mechanical systems, with a strong emphasis on maintenance procedures.
Must have steel processing experience.
Technical & Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Previous managerial experience is highly preferred.
Experience managing multiple vendors and maintaining positive client relationships.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with data analysis software.
Ability to handle both administrative and hands-on mechanical responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks requiring manual dexterity, agility, and endurance.
Ability to work under various conditions, ensuring safety is always a priority.
Work Schedule
Varying shift lengths (8- or 10-hour shifts)
Day shift, Monday to Friday, with on-call responsibilities as needed
