What are the responsibilities and job description for the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders - Head Coach position at MN Vikings Football?

SUMMARY:  The Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders (MVC) Head Coach will be responsible for leading the MVC program.  The ideal candidate will elevate the MVC program working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to unlock the program’s full potential.  This person will be responsible for budgeting, MVC team and staff management, implement strategic program priorities, execute on MVC brand vision, develop and execute social/digital content strategy across MVC channels, and reach across departments as the MVC program extends through multiple facets of the Vikings organization.  The ideal candidate will be prepared to deal with the fast-paced nature of the National Football League, demonstrate unity, commitment and integrity in their leadership, and be an effective and adaptable team player within the Minnesota Vikings Marketing Department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee execution across all MVC channels including program strategy, vision and values.
  • Manage full-time MVC staffcaptains and members, and maintain clear communication. 
  • Ability to develop choreography for game day, community performances and showcase events.
  • Develop standards and foster a collaborative, inclusive environment within the MVC program.
  • Responsible for building the MVC department budget, planning and forecasting.
  • Lead the team recruitment and audition process with a focus on building a diverse, inclusive and high-performing team.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities to grow the MVC brand, including but not limited to corporate partnership and strategic alignments, retail and merchandising opportunities, community appearances and social media strategy.
  • Oversee MVC social media channels, including actively collaborating with MVC Coordinator and team members on content creation.
  • Oversee game day elements, including rehearsals, appearance schedules and in-game performances.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including game presentation, social/digital, corporate partnerships, business strategy and data analytics, and community relations.
  • Execute sponsorship fulfillment associated with the program.
  • Responsible for serving as creative director and leading collaborative work for all MVC photo and video shoots, and working with external partners to develop MVC routine music.
  • Collaboratively execute existing Junior Cheer programs and identify opportunities to expand youth outreach.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a four year college degree; or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum four years of prior experience coaching a collegiate or professional cheer and/or dance team is required.
  • Experience choreographing collegiate or professional dance routines is required.
  • Ability and desire to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Understanding of digital channels, social media, and content creation.
  • Collaborative team member who shows the capability to motivate and empower their staff and team members.
  • Ability to effectively lead a team of professional cheerleaders.
  • Maintain a priority to foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of projects, take risks and demonstrate follow through.
  • Work within the MVC and cross-functionally demonstrating unity, commitment and integrity.
  • Must be a positive team player with strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational leadership skills.
  • Desire to learn and advance knowledge and skills.
