SUMMARY: The Vikings are hiring two Social Media Associates to manage the Vikings social media channels, each with distinct focuses. One Associate will focus on organizational and football initiatives, including content creation, promotion, and community management, while contributing to social platform best practices and performance reporting. The other Associate will focus on off-the-field and lifestyle content, collaborating with creative teams to develop and publish engaging short-form videos and other social lifestyle products. Both positions will assist with content creation at Vikings events and games and work within the Vikings Entertainment Network to communicate with relevant stakeholders.
The Minnesota Vikings will be hiring two Social Media Associates for the 2025 season. These are temporary full-time positions and expected to conclude at the end of May 2026, unless otherwise determined.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Assist in recommending and executing organic social media on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Threads, Snapchat & LinkedIn, respectively.
- Work with internal departments to ideate, create and produce content for ancillary social media accounts.
- Work with Vikings social and digital teams to optimize social strategy, including posting to official accounts.
- Create and publish Vikings creator and influencer content for primary social media platforms.
- Manage all creator databases, as well as serve as point of contact on gamedays for all influencer management and content creation.
- Work closely with lifestyle teams to develop and produce short form video and other content, including basic editing, captioning, etc.
- Assist in international social media content creation and strategy
- Create and post content during game days and tent pole events
- Create reports detailing organic and paid social media results as needed
- Collaborate on long-term social media strategy for organizational social media accounts.
- Provide copyedits for social media content on a daily basis.
- Assist community and ancillary social media account content.
- Serve as community manager for all social media platforms, as needed
- Serve as main point of contact for various weekly social series and work with external creatives on content development.
- Degree in marketing, communications, video production or similar field
- Knowledge of social media best practices is required, including experience working directly with creators or influencers.
- General knowledge of Facebook Business Manager and other social ad platforms.
- Ability to edit social and video content using video editing software on tight deadlines.
- Background in copyediting or writing experience a plus.
- Strong technical skills, content creation experience, and a proven ability to tackle hard, ambiguous problems with rigor and independence.
- Self-starter capable of working on multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work various hours, holidays and weekends a must.
- Collaborative team player, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships across the company.
- Proficiency in Adobe products (Premiere, Photoshop, other Creative Suite programs), Microsoft Office, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, Tiktok and various other emerging social media platforms.
