Mechanical Engineering Patent Agent Opportunity – Washington D.C.
A prestigious law firm in Washington D.C. is seeking a talented Patent Agent to join its Mechanical Engineering Practice Group. Responsibilities
Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to mechanical and engineering inventions. Conduct interviews with inventors to understand and protect new ideas. Advocate for clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Draft and amend patent claims and analyze prior art for key concepts. Participate in patent litigation by providing technical support and related client counseling.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Strong academic credentials (minimum 3.0 GPA); advanced degrees are a significant plus. 1-5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience. Admission to practice before the USPTO. Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Compensation
A competitive compensation package is offered, with an expected salary range between $100,000 - $158,000, commensurate with qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.Comprehensive benefits package, including:
