Primary Responsibilities
- Achieve quarterly gross margin quota
- Support branch teams by assisting with existing customer needs as required, including providing product knowledge, resolving issues, and enhancing customer experiences.
- Participate in Sales calls and one on one calls with your direct supervisor.
- Create a lead building plan and new customer pipeline that works for the target market as well as MNI Direct as a whole and the yearly quota assigned.
- Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with new and prospective customers by understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with branch managers and sales teams to support customers as needed.
- Work in and promote a team environment by meeting with the Sales Team weekly in your territory.
- Assist in training newly hired sales associates and sales account managers. Work with branch manager to determine the amount of training needed case by case.
- Cross-train with Sales Associates/Sales Account Managers to fill in during emergencies. Take them on rides into the market to meet their common customers on a routine basis.
- Involved in panel interviews with sales associates/sales account managers as needed throughout all territories.
- Assist the accounting department with obtaining necessary customer information to properly set up and manage their account
- Take the lead on green industry events (Tradeshows, Fall Field Days, Membership Drives)– signing up, organizing staff and products needed for the event. Setup and teardown.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Training
Education
- High School diploma or secondary diploma or equivalent required
- Horticulture knowledge required and college degree preferred
- 3 years experience in wholesale sales

- Friendly, outgoing, cheerful, professional
- Ability to communicate effectively with all business associates
- Proficient Microsoft Office – Above average excel skills
- Valid driver’s license required; clean 3-year driving record preferred
- Expert customer service and follow up skills
- Ability to “hunt and gather” customers, develop and build relationships
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting and standing
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (M-F)
- Ability to travel and periodically remain overnight
