Position Overview :

The MNL construction division is made up of hard working, experienced, and passionate individuals that work together each day as a team to go above and beyond customer expectations and ensure positive long term environmental impacts with each opportunity. In a typical year, the construction division installs thousands of acres of native seed, repairs thousands of feet of shoreline, creates and enhances hundreds of acres of wetland and forest environments, and works on multiple other projects that restore and enhance habitat throughout the Upper Midwest.
The position of Project Manager / Estimator in the construction division will work to secure and oversee the implementation of ecological construction projects, generally projects with revenue under $1 million. Project securement / completion may utilize multiple services, in a wide variety of settings, while ensuring safety, efficiency, craftsmanship, and profitability. This position will be responsible for all stages of a project from site visits, estimating, submittals, project management, crew management, and the overall successful completion / closeout.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare, develop, and finalize project estimates from initial concept to completion for construction project opportunities. Understands unit prices and has a thorough understanding of overall project scope and pricing.
- Provides exceptional project management skills in all areas of communication, time management, customer service, client and team interaction, process, and workflow.
- Reads and understands owner and subcontractor contract language, ensures objectives of contracts are met and delivers on contract obligations.
- Assist with material inventory and acquisition.
- Assist in compiling financial reports, workload projections, and budget forecasting.
- Project invoicing, auditing, and closeout procedures.
- Track all project inputs and review project performance for profitability.
- Develop new and innovative techniques to perform work more effectively.
- Continually explore the integration of new technologies, new markets, and other industry advances.
- Daily collaboration with Construction Division Field Operations Manager and other PM / Estimators to strategize and schedule projects.
- Implements and integrates systems for tracking assets, productivity, and profitability.
- Maximizes crew production time per shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
