Heat Treat Furnace Operator
Job Schedule:
5PM - 5AM, 12 hours shifts; rotates between Week 1 and Week 2
Week 1: works Mon & Tues, Fri, & Sat = 48 hours
Week 2: works Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday = 36 hours

About the role: The Heat Treat Furnace Operator is responsible for operation and maintenance of the heat treat furnace, which is used to harden and temper the steel fasteners manufactured by MNP. This key role must ensure safe operation of the equipment and temperature instruments to ensure the steel stabilizes as required for the strength and utility needed for the specific fastener application. The Operator works with a small team and must be self-motivated and dependable.
Responsibilities:
Maintain furnace controls to meet specified requirements of the process
Inspect parts before and after the heat-treating operation for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and visual acuity
Read and record computer controls such as the carbon controller to ensure required temperatures, soak time, and cooling times are maintained
Document parts not meeting specifications and issue rejection notices or rework orders as needed
Maintain required documentation of inspections and follow lot tracing protocols
Participate in 5S housekeeping

Previous heat treat experience
Self-motivated; able to work without constant supervision
