What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pretrial Case Manager position at Mobile Community Corrections Center?
The Pretrial Case Manager will perform professional work that ensures accurate and efficient case supervision, case management and the intake functions of defendants placed on Pretrial and/or any other Mobile Community Corrections program. The Pretrial Case Manager must possess a high level of integrity to ensure that Pretrial as well as the Mobile Community Corrections Center as a whole are able to operate efficiently. In addition, the Pretrial Case Manager shall exercise independent judgement and initiative within the scope of authority.
REQUIREMENTS
The suitable candidate for this position must:
- Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent, college degree preferred
- Be knowledgeable of standard office practices and procedures
- Be computer and Microsoft Office proficient
- Communicate effectively in oral and written forms
- Be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize work
- Possess strong organizational, planning, problem solving and time management skills
- Be able to work independently without direct supervision
- Be able to deal with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds in person and over the phone
- Have supervision and case management experience
- Have basic knowledge of the procedures of the criminal justice system
- Be able to work rotating weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
(Responsibilities may be changed with notice based on the departments need and at the Pretrial Coordinators discretion)
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of all files and communication in accordance with established procedures
- Assisting District Court with written criminal history of arrests report for daily bond hearings
- Supervising defendants referred by District and Circuit Court
- Completing new probationer intakes
- Attending court hearings as required (ex: subpoena, bond hearings)
- Utilizing the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), State Judicial Information System (SJIS), Law Enforcement Tactical System (NLETS), and Alabama Communication and Operations Portal (ALACOP)
- Maintaining continuous self-training and recertification as required on NCIC, SJIS, NLETS, ACJIC, and ALACOP
- Assisting Other Alabama County jurisdictions with court ordered drug testing
- Communicating with judges, attorneys, court personnel and other outside agencies
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
Upon hire and throughout employment thereafter:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Level 4 Security Awareness Certification
Within two months of hire and throughout employment:
- National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Full Certification

Pay: $38,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
