Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Obstetrics Manager to lead our OB department in Petoskey, MI. The ideal candidate will have previous OB leadership experience and a strong background in caring for newborns, pediatric, and adult patients. This leadership role requires overseeing OB operations, managing the team, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
As an Obstetrics Manager, you will work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and administrative teams to ensure smooth operations within the department. You will also be responsible for managing patient care protocols, staffing, and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management: Oversee daily OB department operations, providing leadership and support to staff. Manage scheduling, staff performance, and provide mentorship for team development.
- Patient Care Oversight: Ensure high-quality care is provided to patients across newborn, pediatric, and adult populations. Maintain safe and effective care standards, including monitoring for any required changes in protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and efficient patient care delivery.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and reviews of departmental operations.
- Education & Training: Oversee staff training programs to ensure continued education on current practices in obstetrics and patient care. Ensure all certifications are up-to-date.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle emergency situations and provide guidance on emergency protocols for staff and patients.
- Administrative Duties: Oversee departmental documentation, including patient care records and departmental reports. Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate record-keeping.
Job Requirements:
- Leadership Experience: Previous OB leadership experience is required. Experience in managing teams in an obstetrics setting.
- Clinical Experience: Experience with newborns, pediatric, and adult patients required.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Preferred.
- State License: Must hold an active Michigan RN license at the time of submission.
Additional Qualifications:
- EMR Knowledge: Proficiency in Cerner EMR is a plus.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and patients.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage both clinical and administrative responsibilities.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure all documentation and compliance standards are met, maintaining high-quality patient care.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $3,700.00 - $3,900.00 per week
