What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Support Specialist position at Model1 Commercial Vehicles, Inc.?
Come grow with us by joining our team as a Desktop Support Specialist! In this role, you will provide general IT support to employees of Model1 Commercial Vehicles at 25 locations nationwide. The employee will work with the Desktop Support Supervisor and IT Manager to assist with hardware and software issues, new hire onboarding, equipment lifecycle deployments, and other tasks vital to the day-to-day operations of the company. Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Intune, Office 365, Exchange, and SharePoint will make for a strong candidate. Experience in networking VoIP systems, and conferencing AV would also be viewed as a plus. In this role you will report directly to the Desktop Support Supervisor.

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
- Respond to requests in our ticket system in a timely manner, including local deskside support and remote support.
- Document support resolutions in knowledge base articles to improve self-service resolutions and improve future support.
- Help to identify long-term trends to improve our platforms and support processes.
- Set up accounts for new hires, configure equipment including desktop and laptop PCs and other accessories as specified.
- Assist in maintaining and updating hardware inventory database.
- Guide users in use of software tools including standard Microsoft applications as well as Zoom, and Teams conference rooms.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- 2 years technical experience in a support desk environment, experience supporting remote users is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10/11.
- Ability to pick up tasks as they arise and run with them, ask questions where needed, and prioritize work appropriately.
- Software and hardware configuration with emphasis on Microsoft Intune deployments
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure, and Office/Exchange 365. Experience with other Microsoft 365 components such as SharePoint a plus.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
Desirable Qualifications (or Preferred Experience):
- Awareness of best-practices in cybersecurity
- Experience with conference room AV equipment
