Optometric Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with optometrists to provide exceptional patient care and support during eye examinations. Your expertise will help ensure that patients receive accurate assessments and the highest quality of service in our optical practice.

Duties

• Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and conducting preliminary tests.
• Maintain and update medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Perform various diagnostic tests, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
• Educate patients on proper contact lens care and usage, as well as general eye health.
• Collaborate with the retail sales team to provide patients with information about eyewear options and assist in selecting frames.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Basic front desk duties including checking patients in/out and answering phones..

Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• Knowledge of optical products and services, including lenses, frames, and contact lenses.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience in optometry or a related field is preferred.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with both clinical staff and retail teams.
• Ability to manage medical records efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
