Job Title: CMM Operator/Programmer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator/Programmer to join our quality assurance team in Erie, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing precise inspection programs using PC-DMIS software to ensure all manufactured components meet dimensional specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dimensional inspection, blueprint reading, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Key Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using PC-DMIS software.

• Perform thorough dimensional inspections on components, tooling, and assemblies.

• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to define inspection requirements.

• Document and analyze inspection results, generate reports, and communicate findings with engineering and production teams.

• Maintain inspection tools and ensure calibration and accuracy of CMM equipment.

• Support quality assurance initiatives by identifying nonconformances and recommending corrective actions.

• Collaborate with production and engineering to ensure product conformance from prototype to final release.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency with PC-DMIS programming and operation.

• Strong understanding of dimensional inspection methods and GD&T principles.

• Experience using a variety of inspection tools and gauges (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to product quality.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or certification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems is a plus.
