Job Title: Environmental Analytical Lab Manager

Modern Industries, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Environmental Laboratory Director to lead our State/National certified environmental testing laboratories. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for the overall management of laboratory operations, personnel, and technical quality. The ideal candidate will bring a strong scientific background, proven management skills, and a commitment to excellence in environmental analysis.
- Provide day-to-day supervision of laboratory procedures and reporting of results.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of environmental testing data, including inorganic, organic, and microbiological analytes.
- Oversee quality control/assurance performance standards and customer delivery expectations.
- Lead and develop MRD staff, ensuring optimal personnel performance and staffing levels.
- Maintain and enhance documentation systems, records, calibrations, and computerized data management.
- Manage the upkeep and functionality of laboratory equipment, facilities, and grounds.
- Drive professionalism and procedural consistency across all MRD operations.
- Oversee purchasing activities and operational budgeting for the division.
- Serve as primary liaison with the MRD Vice President and collaborate with other departmental managers.
- Implement and enforce corporate policies and procedures, including training and compliance documentation.
Education & Experience Requirements (must meet one of the following):
- Doctoral Degree in chemical, environmental, or biological sciences with:
- 24 college semester credit hours in chemistry
- 6 months of supervised environmental analysis experience
- Master’s Degree in chemical, environmental, or biological sciences with:
- 24 college semester credit hours in chemistry
- 1 year of supervised environmental analysis experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, environmental, or biological sciences with:
- 24 college semester credit hours in chemistry
- 2 years of supervised environmental analysis experience
If microbiological testing is performed, candidates must also have 4 college credit hours in general microbiology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong computer skills and experience with lab management systems.
- Previous successful work history in a similar or related role.
- Ability to meet physical requirements and pass company physical.
