Job Overview
Modern Management a growing hotel ownership and management company based in Columbus, OH is seeking a talented and dedicated Area General Manager. This position will be based in the Akron/Canton area with travel to 5 hotels in the area. Travel to the corporate office in Columbus will be required once per week for a staff meeting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background within the Marriott and Hilton families of hotels and be familiar with Full Service, Select Service and Extended Stay segments. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to drive operational excellence across all assigned locations by working with our on-site AGM's to drive guest service scores and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the key metrics for our portfolio of hotels, set and oversee action plans with our AGM's to improve guest service scores, cost controls, employee turn-over,
- Supervise and train staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff performance and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with AGM's to set goals and achieve operational targets.
- Conduct regular site visits to evaluate performance, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
- Foster positive relationships with customers, staff, and vendors to enhance the overall dining experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience with Marriott Hotels is a must, as the vast majority of our hotels are within the Marriott Family. Hilton experience is helpful, but not necessary.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Knowledge of budgeting principles and financial management within the hospitality industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff at all levels.
- A passion for hospitality with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments while maintaining operational efficiency.
