Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mold Setter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in setting up and maintaining molds for various production processes. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing operations, particularly in plastics processing. The Mold Setter will work closely with the production staff to optimize mold setups and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production cycle.

Responsibilities

• Performs mold changes

• Install dies on machine according to work order specifications

• Responsible for molding machine setup including ancillary equipment as related to the molding process

• Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results

• Ability to properly handle material, molded product, and related inventory control

• Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds, and tooling

• Responsible for completing Mold Setup and Resin Change Checklists

• Assisting in the modification of existing procedures and the creation of new standardized work procedures

• Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times

• Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes

• Address unacceptable reject levels

• Respond to machine alarms promptly

• Use a crane hoist to perform mold changes and maintenance of molding machines

• Set up End of Arm tooling for robotic part removal and trimming

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints

• Utilizing and understanding all applicable subcomponents of the production order packet

• Performs all the functions and responsibilities of a material handler

• Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts

Experience

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a setup.

• Candidates that know commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within mold setting are strongly preferred

• Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a variety of tasks

• Keeps knowledge and skills current

• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-change environment with limited supervision - self-starter

• Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow-up skills

• possess good communication skills - both writing and speaking

• Be able to work under time pressure and prioritize and complete tasks promptly

• be able to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude daily and under deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
