Job Summary
At Modern Plastic Recovery our plant recycles HDPE to be used for feed stock in our sister companies. We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician that is responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality and safety of all facility systems and equipment. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs to maintain a safe and efficient working environment which may also involve machine maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical skills, mechanical aptitude, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Duties
- Attend daily stretch and bend meeting with the entire shift.
- Ensure that all company safety programs and policies are being followed at all times.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and machines to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various systems including electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Fabricate components as needed to support facility operations.
- Troubleshoot low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
- Maintain hydraulic systems by performing necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Execute welding tasks for structural repairs or modifications including aluminum and stainless steel.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of repairs performed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proficiency in industrial mechanics with a strong understanding of facility systems.
- Ability to fabricate parts or components using various tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems is essential.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and their applications in facility maintenance.
- Welding skills are beneficial for performing necessary repairs or modifications.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and basic math skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
- Experience with 480V, 3 phrase motors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years in a manufacturing industry.
- 1-2 years maintenance experience.
- 1-2 years fabrication experience.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
