What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unclaimed Property Analyst position at Modern Woodmen of America?
Are you inquisitive and detail-oriented? If so, Modern Woodmen is seeking an Unclaimed Property Analyst to prepare and submit unclaimed property reports to state agencies, work with Compliance and Legal departments to ensure procedures and practices comply with state insurance regulations, and monitor the status of unclaimed property claims. You would also become knowledgeable of state unclaimed property laws and communicate with internal and external parties about unclaimed property matters.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit unclaimed property reports to state agencies in accordance with statutory deadlines and requirements.
- Work with Compliance and Legal to ensure procedures and practices comply with state insurance regulations.
- Monitor and implement any required procedure changes related to state insurance bulletins.
- Communicate and coordinate with state agencies, claimants, vendors, and other internal and external parties regarding unclaimed property matters.
- Monitor and track the status and progress of unclaimed property claims and reports.
- Become knowledgeable of state unclaimed property laws.
- Maintain accurate unclaimed property records.
- Provide guidance to others regarding the vendor management processes.
- Assist with processing purchase orders and with maintaining department portal site.
What we need:
- High School diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1 years’ experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and SharePoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Additional information about this opportunity:
- The hourly pay for this position is $21.00 per hour.
- This is a hybrid position (3 days in office/2 days work from home (WFH) per week), located at Modern Woodmen’s home office in Rock Island, IL. Must be able to work in the office 5 days per week for initial job training. Some WFH days during training would be allowed on a case-by-case basis.
- This is a full-time position: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), Monday- Friday, with flexible start time between 7:00AM-9:00AM.
