TITLE : CONTROLS MANAGER
JOB DUTIES / GENERAL REQUIREMENTS :
The Controls Manager will be involved in the planning. leading and directing of the Controls staff in the many areas of Building Automation and Energy Management Controls, and will oversee duties performed in Controls Service, Controls Programming and Engineering, and Construction Startup.
In depth knowledge and highly proficient with HVAC systems, as well as controls engineering, programming, start-up and commissioning.
Coordinates and oversees on site performance and management to assure projects are completed in a professional manner and on time.
Support and mentor others in order to assist in the planning and tracking of professional development, training and certification activities for the Controls staff.
Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
Oversee project reviews with owners on an ongoing and closeout basis.
Review project closeouts and report on same to track customer satisfaction and job costs.
Produces effective & professional documentation of project activities.
Leads and participates in weekly production meetings as needed.
Be sure internal project updates are provided to other departments / management to ensure jobs are completed on time, within budget, and within customer expectations.
Ensure established company project delivery policies / procedures are enforced at all times; develop new and enhanced procedures when required.
Ensure all assigned work is conducted in a safe and effective manner.
Effectively and tactfully resolve project problems in a timely manner via frequent and clear communications with owners, subcontractors, design professionals, vendors, and other individuals involved with the project.
