Job Title: Tube Bender – Machine Operator
Reports to: Supervisor of designated department
FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT
Schedule: Monday through Friday (6:00am – 2:30pm); extended hours may be required to support business needs
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- This position will follow written instructions with daily route sheets, blueprints of components to be joined-together, and possibly at multiple angles.
- Set up, adjust, and operate tube bending machinery.
- Contribute to a culture, and environment focused daily on team member safety.
- Working knowledge of XYZ and LRA coordinates.
- Verify the quantity, description, material type, gauge, and Tube size based off of the daily route sheet.
- Produce accurate, quality products per customer specifications.
- Follow established safety, and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:
- Position requires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as tape Measures, Calipers, Protractors, Micrometers, and other various measuring tools.
- Experience reading, and interpreting blueprints.
- PPE must be worn when working on the shop floor.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements.
- Experience with either CMM or FARO digital measuring machines.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) and communicate recommendations as necessary.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, and orderly condition, while following safety regulations.
- Identify, properly tag, and remove non-conforming materials.
- Inspect end-product to ensure accuracy, and consistency is maintained.
- Excellent trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills, including a high-level of abstract reasoning.
- Mechanical and Technical aptitude.
- Possess a high degree of attention to detail, patience, and hand-eye coordination.
- Proficient with math, all units of measurement, metric, fractions, decimals, ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Proven ability to be dependable, and responsible.
- This position is very active and requires bending, twisting/turning, stoop/crouch, reach, or standing for 10 hours/day.
- This position requires specific vision abilities such as, distance vision, close vision. Depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear clearly.
- High school diploma, or GED
- A minimum of 2 years working in the manufacturing environment.
Physical environment/work conditions:
The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
Other (e.g., customer contact or access to confidential information):
This position works in a production environment. The position will report directly to the Production supervisor and will have daily interaction with other team members.
