Project Director

General Description: The Project Director will provide daily oversight of the program and corresponding staff. This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the project activities, internal and external coordination, developing the program and conducting meetings.

Schedule: Full time 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday

The Project Director performs work under the supervision of the Environmental Director.

Job Duties: This position includes but is not limited to the job functions listed below.

• Adhere to all policies set forth by the Tribal Administration
• Adhere to the mission and vision statement of the Environmental Department
• Work directly with the Environmental Director to ensure the program meets its requirements
• Coordinates program activities to complete required deliverables of grant(s)
• Maintain communication with Nation’s finance office and funding agencies assigned staff
• Maintain a working knowledge of other environmental grants/projects and aid as needed
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required
• Answer routine inquiries concerning the development of the program
• Coordinate and schedule meetings as needed
• Assist in restructuring of recycling program
• Monitor and seek additional grant funding opportunities related to solid waste management
• Ensure that awarded grant funds are expended in a timely and efficient manner
• If necessary, participate in education, continuing education and training to meet objectives
• Provide customer service in a professional and respectful manner at all times
• Ensure work is carried out to the highest standards of health and safety
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements and Qualifications

• The position requires a high school education or GED equivalent
• The ability to acquire certifications as related to the position
• Three – five years grant related experience
• One – three years of supervisory experience preferred
• Requires communication both, written and verbal, and teamwork skills
• Requires ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team in a diverse workplace with people of varying cultures and backgrounds
• Knowledge of procurement process as related to the grant deliverables
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of grant application, modification, award and reporting per funding agency
• Computer and general analytical competency

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
