What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist - Skilled or Entry Level position at Moeller Precision Tool LLC?
We are seeking qualified and mechanically inclined candidates, who are motivated and willing to challenge themselves. Our CNC Machinists range from highly skilled to entry level. We host a 100,000 sq ft facility with 3, 4, and 5-Axis CNC Mills, EDM Wires, manual grinders, CNC precision grinders, CNC Lathes, and more. Previous experience is preferred, but we are willing to train entry level operators. You will have the opportunity to learn other machines.
No matter your skill level, we commit to precision and quality, and we need you too as well.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories
- Setting tolerance levels and speeds
- Translates the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production
- Perform inspection on manufactured parts
REQUIREMENTS:
- Highly motivated
- Basic math skills (i.e. – Algebra or higher)
- High school Diploma or GED
- Ability to work up to 10 hours a day (Physical Agility)
- A willingness to learn
- Mechanical Aptitude
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with CNC or manual machine set-up
- Blueprint reading skills
Schedule:
- Days: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (M-F) / 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Saturday)
- Nights: 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM (M-F) / 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Saturday)
A normal shift consists of 8-10 hours per day, Monday thru Friday. Mandatory Saturdays will be required, but no more than 14 per year. Overtime will be required.
Approximation of hours: 45-50 hours per week on average, up to 56 hours with more available upon request.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The manufacturing shop is highly maintained for cleanliness, including disinfecting and floor scrubbing daily. The entire building is air conditioned and ventilated to maintain cool and clean air quality.
The role may require standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to handle objects. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. The ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds is essential. Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment, are required to perform the job effectively.

Moeller Precision Tool is centrally located within the Metro Detroit area, offering a 45-minute commute from Ann Arbor or Troy, Michigan. You'll have access to various local restaurants for lunch, easy I-96 access, and nearby apartment options.
