Job Title: Finance Specialist
Work Schedule: 12 Months/Year - 8.75 Hours/Day
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year (dependent on experience)
$10,000 Sign-on Bonus
$5,000 Relocation Package
The Finance Specialist is responsible for recording and maintaining financial transactions, such as purchases, expenses, sales revenue, invoices, and payments.
This position includes working with large data sets across a variety of software solutions and supports multiple stakeholders across the district.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company's financial strategy.
- Manage the company's financial accounts, payroll, budget, cash receipts, and financial assets.
- Handle transactions and debts, as well as perform cash flow forecasting.
- Conduct financial audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Follow proper accounting procedures to achieve financial objectives.
- Monitor and analyze financial accounting data to inform business decisions.
- Create financial reports based on data analysis to present to stakeholders.
- Make recommendations to business stakeholders to drive growth and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required).
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred).
- Two years of supervisory experience (preferred).
- Experience with MS Office and Google Suite applications (required).
- Experience with governmental accounting (preferred).
- Experience with public school district accounting (highly preferred).
- Experience with Tyler Technologies IVisions system (highly preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Experience with accounting software and databases.
- Superior data management and data analysis skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to staff, administrators, parents, students, and vendors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
