Buyer Job Description:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, components, and services to meet production and operational requirements.
- Issue, track, and manage purchase orders (POs) using ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite).
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure on-time delivery and quality compliance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to qualify new suppliers and materials.
- Address and resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays and non-conforming materials.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Assist in developing and maintaining the production schedule to align with demand forecasts and inventory levels.
- Monitor material availability and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment.
- Work with production and warehouse teams to manage inventory levels, avoiding shortages or excess stock.
- Analyze capacity constraints and lead times, making adjustments to optimize workflow.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning and procurement processes.
- 2-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (light industrial sector preferred).
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for supply chain decision-making.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
