Your Impact
The Cultivation Specialist assists the Cultivation Facility Manager in managing the team and maintaining proper company and safety compliance to ensure plant health throughout the cultivation process.
What You'll Do (Personnel Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.
Cultivation Operations:
- Overseeing and participating in daily cultivation tasks, including watering, pruning, transplanting, and harvesting.
- Monitoring environmental controls (temperature, humidity, lighting, CO2).
- Implementing and maintaining nutrient and irrigation schedules.
- Managing plant health and identifying/addressing pest or disease issues.
- Ensuring the quality of products and setting and measuring goals to ensure the effectiveness of cultivation processes.
Team Management:
- Supervising and training cultivation staff.
- Assist the department manager with coaching or disciplinary actions.
- Assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Directing daily operations in the absence of management.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensuring adherence to all state and local regulations related to cannabis cultivation.
- Maintaining accurate records of plant inventory, growth cycles, and harvests.
- Following strict protocols for waste disposal and sanitation.
Inventory and Record Keeping:
- Managing inventory of supplies and materials.
- Accurate data entry into tracking systems (e.g., state-mandated tracking software).
- Maintaining detailed records of cultivation activities.
Facility Maintenance:
- Ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the cultivation facility.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment.
- Identifying and reporting any facility issues.
- Ensure all assigned tasks are completed before leaving for the day unless otherwise authorized by their supervisor.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a facility agent card through the state.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis cultivation techniques.
- Understanding of plant health and disease management.
- Experience with environmental control systems.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Previous experience working as a team lead or in management is preferred.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and record-keeping skills.
- Proficient in electronic communication, Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, and Adobe applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Flexible scheduling with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Exposure to environmental particles such as pollen and plant pathogens, fertilizer, dust, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, dust, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
