Position Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor performs a hybrid role that requires both the completion of hands-on accounting responsibilities and the oversight of a small accounting team. The Accounting Supervisor reports to the corporate Controller and must be diligent, dependable, thorough and possess a high level of attention to detail while working in a fast-paced work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
- Assist in annual budgeting process, and on-going business forecasting, including cash flow forecasting
- Supervise and provide training to a small accounting team
- Accounts payable duties to include vendor invoice review and vendor payments
- Send wire transfers and automated clearing house (ACH) requests
- Assist Controller with annual reviews
- Provide the financial reporting on income statements, balance sheets, cash flow and variance analysis
- Accounts receivable duties to include daily cash receipts
- Assist Controller with month end closing and additional accounting activities, as needed
- Approve credit terms and limits for clients
- Collections and related follow-up of open accounts receivable
- Disburse vendor invoices daily for approval by appropriate department/individuals
- Schedule and pay vendor invoices and check requests
- Review daily billing for accuracy and post previous days’ billing to the general ledger
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline and/or 5 years equivalent work experience required
- Proficiency with various software/programs to include MS Excel, MS Power BI, MS Word and MS Outlook required
- Familiarity with MS Power BI or other data management applications
- Robotic process automation (RPA) a plus but not required
- CPA a plus but not required
