Job Summary:
The Junior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, blueprints, and plans to gain a comprehensive understanding of project specifications. This role will also involve attending bid walks and client meetings, preparing material and labor estimates, and performing detailed cost analysis to support project budgeting and planning. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring accurate and timely estimates that align with project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project documentation, including requirements, blueprints, and plans, to ensure full understanding of project scope.
- Participate in bid walks and client meetings to gather pertinent information.
- Identify production factors that may influence project costs.
- Prepare detailed estimates, including material, labor, and overall cost projections.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to facilitate smooth operations.
- Solicit and manage bids from external vendors and contractors.
- Utilize bid data to prepare comprehensive cost analysis reports.
- Present detailed cost estimates to management for review and approval.
- Record and compile actual project costs for analysis and future reference.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in estimating or a similar role.
- High School Diploma or completion of an accredited electrician training program is required; a Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret project drawings, schedules, and specifications.
- Familiarity with Accubid Trimble software is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate clearly with all levels of management and industry professionals.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster productive working relationships with peers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
