Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in leading analytical support and managing projects within the Accounting/Finance department. This position involves providing high-level assistance with general accounting functions, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in monthly and annual financial close processes, including preparing financial statements.
- Perform account analysis and prepare general ledger journal entries.
- Maintain and review audit schedules for year-end audit processes.
- Participate in budgeting, including schedule preparation and financial analysis.
- Ensure proper classification and recording of general ledger transactions.
- Track and maintain fixed assets.
- Analyze cost of sales variances, profitability, product mix, and bill of materials.
- Prepare and file corporate sales & use, property, and franchise tax returns.
- Support international divisions with monthly financial close.
- Provide support to general accounting functions as needed.
- Identify areas for process improvement and assist in developing more efficient procedures.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and corporate financial activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Oracle software is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
