What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at ST?
Duties:
The following duties are typical for this position. Employees may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
Essential Job Duties:
- Prepare and process journal entries
- Manage the month-end process to ensure the integrity of the financial statements
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Item inventory reconciliation
- Cost accounting for finished goods and grapes/wine
- Prepare all excise, sales and use tax returns
- Prepare federal and state monthly compliance reports
- Provide operational support for NAV and other software systems as a finance liaison
- Assist with process improvements
- Cap Ex for accounting purposes
- Back up to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Minimum Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting position
- Must have a strong understanding of accounting and the ability to solve problems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Experience in manufacturing and retail accounting
- Ideal candidate thrives in fast paced environment and must be very detail oriented
