About The Advanced Sourcing Manager
We seek a proven leader to take responsibility for component Sourcing for our third-generation liquid desiccant air conditioner. Additional prior HVAC Industry is desired. The successful candidate will “get in at the ground floor” of our newly launched and funded business to build our supply chain. They must be comfortable playing a leadership role, working across teams, and building the necessary organizational skills and structures in an early-stage startup, while still contributing directly to the building out the Strategic Sourcing function for the company. Responsibilities
- Responsible to secure the source-of-supply for all strategic Direct Materials
- Responsible for the end-to-end management of the company’s Procurement Function
- Identify suppliers that meet engineering specifications, cost targets, and lead times
- Negotiate long-term supply agreements
- Responsible for supplier development and risk management
- Assist in planning activities as needed
- Responsible to provide feedback to Product Development teams to guide validation of new suppliers
- Establish and maintain the Sourcing and Make/Buy Strategy for the company
- 10 years of experience with Sourcing in a Manufacturing Company
- Experience introducing/managing new suppliers: focus on developing off-shore and near-shore partnerships
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems: sheet metal, compressors, heat exchangers, electrical controls
- Able to work on cross disciplinary teams (e.g., with scientists, engineers, sales, and manufacturing)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including documentation
- BS in Business or similar, MBA preferred
- ISM/APICS Certification preferred
- Six Sigma Certification preferred
