Position Summary
The Intake Manager oversees a team of 100 Intake Specialists and 5-8 Supervisors responsible for handling incoming authorizations from Area Agencies on Aging, Managed Care Organizations, and Health Plans for home-delivered meals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage team members handling incoming authorizations and calls.
- Track and document employee performance.
- Conduct employee performance reviews.
- Create reports as needed or requested by senior leadership.
- Train and develop employees to drive case manager satisfaction, accuracy, efficiency, and performance.
- Determine training requirements for new hires and existing staff.
- Address questions from Intake Specialists and handle customer escalations.
- Optimize productivity based on department metrics.
- Manage work schedules based on workload volume.
- Administer access to provider portals as needed.
- Implement process improvements.
- Support cross-functional initiatives in customer care, sales, and revenue cycle.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of supervisory or management experience in healthcare.
- Prior authorization process experience with payers and providers.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong relationship-building skills with payers and customers.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Post-graduate education.
- Experience with eligibility inquiry software.
- NAHAM or AAHAM certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work with repetitive motions.
- Visual perception and ability to adjust focus.
