About the Summer Internship Program
The Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in a specific area of museum work at The Museum of Modern Art. Interns participate in weekly professional development activities designed to increase understanding of the Museum’s various collections, exhibitions, and departments. The Museum hosts approximately 25 interns in various departments across our institution. Participants may arrange for academic credit through their school, but it is not a requirement.
MoMA Summer 2025 internships require a commitment of four days per week. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. One must have a minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by June 2025 in order to apply.

Department Projects & Tasks
The intern in our Creative Operations team, in the Graphic Design studio, will contribute to project coordination of digital assets and social content for membership and marketing, including Meta, MTA Liveboards, and the Moynihan Train Hall. Intern will have direct impacts on the Marketing & Audience Strategy team, as well as Audience Growth and Membership Conversion and Retention. Intern will also gain experience with additional contributions to photoshoot and asset management, archiving and organization.
Tasks include:
- Project coordination of social content for paid and organic media for Meta
- Project coordination of digital and out of home assets for the marketing and membership teams, including MTA Liveboards, Moynihan Train Hall
- Contribute to MoMA’s digital asset management system (DAM), organizing and archiving photoshoots, exhibition design documentation, and marketing assets
- Plan exhibition and special project photoshoot and content creation for @momadesignstudio Instagram and website
Department Skillset Requirements
Candidates studying in communications, marketing, business, art/design with an interest in the arts. Excellent writing and communication skills and knowledge of project management tools and processes, particularly Asana is required. General understanding of design specifications and creative assets and familiarity with social platforms including Meta (Instagram), YouTube is strongly preferred.
