About the Summer Internship Program
The Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in a specific area of museum work at The Museum of Modern Art. Interns participate in weekly professional development activities designed to increase understanding of the Museum’s various collections, exhibitions, and departments. The Museum hosts approximately 25 interns in various departments across our institution. Participants may arrange for academic credit through their school, but it is not a requirement.
MoMA Summer 2025 internships require a commitment of four days per week. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. One must have a minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by June 2025 in order to apply.

Department Projects & Tasks
The Social Media Video Intern will support the creation of dynamic video content for MoMA’s social media platforms. This role involves filming in gallery spaces, obtaining audience consent (waivers) for appearances in video content, editing video footage, and collaborating with the social media team on ideation and execution. The intern will contribute to the Museum's mission to engage a diverse global audience.
Projects will include film and edit engagement, visually compelling video optimized for social media platforms, securing waivers for audience members featured in content that fosters audience connection and participation in brainstorms with the social media team to generate creative content that increases engagement and reach. Intern work will directly support campaigns for the collection, upcoming exhibitions, and Museum programs to engage existing audiences and reach new ones.
Department Skillset Requirements
Candidates with proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro). Basic knowledge of social media filming techniques and equipment, including smartphones and gimbals, is required. Applicants should have storytelling abilities, with an understanding of visual and narrative elements optimized for social media, and a strong familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) and their respective video requirements. Ability to engage and collaborate with team members creatively is strongly preferred.
