What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Pilates Teacher & Studio Manager position at Mome Studios?

Hours: This is a full-time position. Candidates must be able to teach at least one weekend morning between 6 am - 12 pm and must be available to teach weekdays between 6 am - 12 pm and 4 pm - 7 pm. Please include your "ideal" weekly work schedule in your application.
The estimated studio opening is April 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Greet clients warmly as they enter the studio.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all clients and visitors.
- Check the studio for safety measures and report any risks
Class Instruction:
- Teach classes of mixed ability, catering for varying needs within a class offering adaptations and progressions as well as modifications where necessary.
- Create and test class instruction to bring fresh and engaging techniques to our audience of folks hungry for engaging Pilates classes.
- Lead group reformer and mat Pilates classes and other fitness classes as needed (when certified).
Client Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with clients, offering personalized fitness advice and support.
- Encourage client retention through exceptional class experiences and personalized attention.
- Promote studio events, workshops, and membership packages.
Studio Management:
- Ensure the studio environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained before and after classes.
- Assist with studio events, promotions, and community outreach activities.
- Collaborate with the business manager and other instructors to improve class offerings and client experience.
- Create and manage employee teaching schedules.
General Support:
- Report to the Studio Associates when inventory is low in stock.
- Report any maintenance issues to the Studio Associates promptly.
Other:
- Debrief with team members after classes to update member information as needed.
- Support the team during off-site events.
- Assist in the hiring and onboarding of new teachers and support staff.
Requirements
- Certified Pilates Instructor with at least one (1) year of teaching experience. Experience in studio management is a plus.
- Ability to teach various Pilates classes (e.g., reformer, mat, chair, mixed-level) is preferred, at least one specialty is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Pilates principles, techniques, and equipment. Stay informed and educated about Pilates and wellness techniques and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A sense of humor is a big plus!
- Ability to work effectively with diverse clients in pursuit of their fitness goals.
- Maintain a professional and punctual presence in the studio.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Authorized to work in the US.
