Job Description
SUMMARY
Childcare Teacher is a full-time or part-time position that is responsible for providing care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. The classroom teacher ensures the center is compliant with all state and federal requirements and represents the center in a positive and professional manner at all times and adheres to the Momentum Early Learning Culture.

Through thoughtful and structured lessons teachers will lead our children through a world of adventure and creative play. Our mission is to provide a secure and safe environment where parents and guardians are welcome to share in their child’s day at any time via secured webcam or in-person visit.
Our teachers are experienced and nurturing caregivers who encourage interactive and imaginative play while expanding the experiences and knowledge of our children. Our state-of-the-art center ensures a secure, healthy, and clean environment for children to explore and learn in a safe and comfortable setting. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES1) Child Care
- Provides a nurturing and respectful environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually
- Assures that all children receive proper personal care and attention to their toileting/diapering, clothing, and health needs
- Assists children in learning age-appropriate social and development skills through activities and lesson plans
- Maintains a respectful, warm, engaging learning relationship with students, encouraging curiosity and discovery
- Assists in the planning and implementation of appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, and special events
2) Safety, Security, and Cleanliness
- Proactively identifies and resolves potential safety hazards in the childcare center and creates a safe and healthy environment for children of all ages
- Reports any suspected abuse to the Director in a timely manner
- Maintains a very clean learning environment practicing all policies and procedures of state and Momentum requirements
3) Operations
- Under the guidance of the Lead Teacher, assists in the maintenance of records on each child including but not limited to daily observations, daily activities, daily notes of care, snacks/meals, and attendance/timesheets
- Ensures that standard operating procedures for the center are followed and positively reinforced to others on the childcare team
- Reports to the Director any damaged or lost materials
4) Guest Experience & Satisfaction
- Engages parents/guardians through open verbal and written communication
- Communication with all parents must be professional at all times
- Proactively and professionally addresses and resolves parental concerns, keeping the Director informed of the issue and resolution. Escalates critical issues to the Director for resolution as needed
- Interactions and conversations with parents need to remain confidential at all times
5) Leadership

6) Additional Duties

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Associates degree in Early Childhood field preferred but not required
- Completion of Early Childhood I and enrollment in Early Childhood II or Infant/Toddler within 6 months of hire
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Must meet annual continuing education requirements
- Shaken Baby and SIDS Training
- Experience
- Minimum of 1-year experience in the childcare profession
Physical Requirements
- Health Exam within 30 days of employment
- Completion of Physical Lift & Carry test
