Momentum is hiring an Early Intervention Teacher for our Leaps and Bounds program. As the Early Intervention Teacher, you will assess and address the cognitive, social language, and social emotional needs of children with developmental delays in a classroom setting.

Early Intervention Teacher Essential Responsibilities :
Assists Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists in the completion of developmental assessmentsCollaborates with Early Intervention Teachers to create and facilitate curriculum and activities to address the individual cognitive, social language and social emotional needs of the childrenLeads the daily social language / cognition enrichment group as well as oversees the activities in the cognition centersAssumes the role of Session Leader in the classroom and the responsibilities inherent with the role of Session Leader as it relates to the day to day functioning of the classroomCommunicates consistently with families, regional center and local school districtsProvides support to the members of the multi-disciplinary, early intervention teamOversees the timely completion, review and submission of reportsLeads the daily collaboration meetingsAttends department and clinic meetings regularlyEnsures that the child's and the families' needs are being met by the programPerforms other duties assigned to meet department and / or business needsEarly Intervention Teacher Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Psychology or related discipline; preferredKnowledge of developmental milestones and developmental disabilities in the early childhood population; requiredExcellent skills in communication, interpersonal relationships and organization; requiredBilingual in English / SpanishProficient assessment and writing skills; requiredComputer literacy; requiredStrong desire to work with individuals with developmental disabilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentSuccessfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, health screening, TB screening and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United StatesAbility to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to fifty (50) poundsWith 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, Momentum is the largest nonprofit provider of direct support for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.
