Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to provide academic support to students in various subjects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in subjects such as discrete math, geometry, computer science, anatomy, statistics, and general sciences. This role requires the ability to educate and inspire students while adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. Teachers will also have an opportunity to tutor SAT, ACT, PSAT, or general Math classes for K-12 students.
Our English and Math classes consist of 1x1 tutoring as well as group classes, depending on students' needs. Familiarity with the SAT and high scores are must for all SAT/ACT Tutors.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in subjects including discrete math, geometry, computer science, anatomy, statistics, and chemical engineering.
- Assess students' understanding of material and tailor lessons accordingly to enhance learning outcomes.
- Develop engaging lesson plans and educational materials that align with curriculum standards.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student achievements.
The successful candidate must/should:
- Have at least a four year degree (a proof of degree and an official or an unofficial transcript needed)
- Have background check done OR willing to do so before starting the job
- Have skills to help student not just reach their academic goals but also motivate and inspire them to do the best to reach their full potential
- Is responsible and able to make a commitment for a minimum of one year
- Work in a timely manner
- Strong knowledge in subjects such as discrete math, geometry, computer science, anatomy, statistics, and sciences
- Patience and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
- No teacher certificate required but previous tutoring experience or experience working with students is required
- We offer relatively flexible schedule depends on students' needs
Our SAT/ACT and K-12 English & Math classes take place anywhere between 3 pm and 10 pm, Monday through Friday and between 12 am and 6 pm on Saturday. Our summer classes take place anywhere between 10 am and 6 pm or between 12 pm and 8pm, Monday through Friday, Saturday if necessary. Qualified applicants should be available during those hours.
