Key Responsibilities:
- Operate in the sushi bar and/or back of the house to prepare food safely and effectively
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and complete
- Follow recipes, measuring ingredients, weighing, and mixing
- Bake, grill, steam, boil, fry, and chop meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and grains
- Presents and garnishes final dishes visually appealingly
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Contribute to stocking, ordering, and purchasing ingredients to minimize spoilage/waste
- Communicate issues with kitchen equipment, utensils, or supplies to the Head Sushi Chef
- Handle and store different types of ingredients appropriately
- Maintain food and safety sanitation standards, policies, and procedures
Additional Duties:
- Assist serving staff as needed
- Assist other kitchen staff as needed
- Clean outside of kitchen, such as the dining room as needed
- Other duties assigned
Requirements:
- Ability to multitask
- Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a consistent pace
- Good attitude and understanding of menu and cooking methods
- Reliable attendance record and ability to work in a team environment
- Able to follow health and safety policies and procedures
- Function in primary chef, secondary chef, and sushi end stations
