Winchester Summer Program Intern

Are you ready to build your resume, earn money and have fun while working with kids? Monadnock United Way is currently hiring a Summer Program Intern to support and lead enriching activities at our Winchester ACCESS summer program for K–8 students.
Position Overview:
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with youth in a vibrant summer day camp setting. Interns will help plan and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate activities alongside experienced educators. This paid internship is perfect for students or emerging professionals looking to grow their skills in education, youth development, or recreation—and make a real impact in the lives of children.
Summer Program Details (Winchester ACCESS):
- Program Dates: July 7 – August 8, 2025
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Staff Schedule: Most staff work four 10-hour days (e.g., M–Th or Tu–F) for a full-time experience with a weekday off. Flexible scheduling is available based on your availability.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth is preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn and grow in a supportive team environment
- Dependability and flexibility
- Must pass a background and criminal records check
Compensation & Perks:
- $16–18/hour, based on experience
- Opportunities to earn college credit, practicum hours, community service hours, and letters of recommendation
- Gain valuable experience in teaching, mentoring, behavior management, and leadership
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily activities, enrichment clubs, and creative learning projects
- Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment
- Assist with classroom set-up, clean-up, and transitions
- Engage with students one-on-one or in small groups
- Support students during structured and unstructured play
- Act as a positive role model and respectful team member
- Communicate any needs or concerns to the site director promptly
