Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metal Fabrication Manager to oversee our metal fabrication operations in Grand Prairie, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and expertise in operating and managing various metal fabrication machinery, including Amada press brakes, CNC machines, turrets, welding equipment, cutting tools, and finishing processes. The Metal Fabrication Manager will be responsible for leading a team of fabricators, ensuring efficient production, maintaining quality standards, managing inventory, implementing maintenance procedures and protocols, and ensuring work is performed safely.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and supervise metal fabrication team members, including fabricators, welders, and machine operators.
2. Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
3. Operate and oversee the operation of Amada press brakes, CNC machines, turrets, welding equipment, and other metal fabrication machinery.
4. Ensure all machinery is properly maintained and serviced to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
5. Monitor and maintain quality standards throughout the fabrication process, including inspecting finished products for accuracy and precision.
6. Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
7. Train new employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
8. Optimize fabrication processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
9. Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering and procurement, to ensure seamless production flow.
10. Manage inventory levels of raw materials, tooling, and finished products.
11. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions as needed.
12. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices in metal fabrication.
13. Be part of an operations team that works to help the sales team attract and retain new customers through quality products and quick lead times.
14. Maintain and improve KPIs relating to quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
2. 5 years of experience in metal fabrication, with demonstrated expertise in operating Amada press brakes, CNC machines, turrets, welding equipment, and other machinery.
3. Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a metal fabrication facility.
4. Strong leadership and communication skills.
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
8. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
9. Some proficiency in blueprints, CAD, G code, CNC programming, etc. Ability to learn quickly.
