What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trader Assistant (on desk) – Macro Hedge Fund - $300-375k TC position at Mondrian Alpha?
A major macro strategy hedge fund, rapidly expanding its US presence, are looking to make a newly created trader assistant hire for their Manhattan office.
The role is a stand-alone TA / middle office seat that sits with the New York investment team (high volume, fixed income – the operations team sit separate) – it provides unrivalled access to market leading fixed income PM’s / traders.
The role is split between BAU work (trade bookings, managing trade positions, monitoring PB recs, managing trading breaks, supporting new product approvals etc.) and project responsibilities, being the gap / a point of escalation between the US investment desk and senior management across finance / operations / COO. Projects are predominately focused on platform enhancements & efficiency drivers, but also broader initiatives that PM’s / traders will task you on.
Candidates should have 5-10yrs relevant experience in fixed income operations / middle office / trade assistant positions, ideally currently working for a hedge fund. Candidates should ideally have a strong grasp of rates, swaps, bonds, futures, options etc. Coding skills are preferred, albeit not an expectation, whereas a strong track record in process automation is a requirement.
The role is budgeted to pay a $300-375k TC, with the variable depending on level of experience and exceptional individual performance.
