The Software Engineering Manager – Financial Paper Products is responsible for one or more development teams made up of Software Engineers and Automation Engineers. The Manager has development and support responsibility for Money Order and Official Check products including managing all estimating, design, development, and support of these applications. Responsible for overseeing the execution of development efforts in support of both business-driven initiatives as well as regular maintenance and infrastructure projects.
HOW YOU WILL LEAD
Lead and oversee Software Engineers and Quality Automation Engineers working closely with the operations team to ensure development projects are delivered on time, within budget, and that they meet quality standards.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide hands-on support for development in COBOL, architecture, and overall administration for projects and for mainframe operations
- Develop or assist-in developing test plans and test activities and/or execute test components to ensure code changes or new programs meet business requirements and function as needed.
- Adhere to change control processes and procedures defined by release management team
- Partner with application users, to identify opportunities to automate existing manual processes.
- Perform application support tasks such as systems support, security reviews, and maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot/resolve incidents and business support items in Mainframe
WHO YOU ARE
- BS degree in computer science, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 5 years of Mainframe Development background in design, analysis, and coding: COBOL, TSO/ISPF, VSAM Files, JCL, and Oracle
- 2 years project management experience following a structured development methodology.
- Minimum 1 year in a management role.
- 5 years of experience working on financial or payment systems
- Must have extensive and proven experience as a COBOL Developer and an in-depth understanding of mainframe systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Experience as a Mainframe Developer/Programmer Analyst with COBOL
- Demonstrated foundational experience with large-scale, complex mainframe productions systems.
- Hands-on experience in design, implementation, and production support of applications.
LOCATION
Remote Flexible in the Eastern or Central Time Zone. While it offers remote flexibility, candidates must reside in the United States.
SALARY
Anticipated Base Pay: Starting at $140,000 & up participation in our annual bonus plan. We are open to going significantly higher based on your experience and skill set
