Title: Admissions Coordinator

Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, communication, business, or of relational experience in the Behavioral Health Field
- Excellent customer service skills
- Shows an understanding of replying to inquiries promptly, sense of urgency to client and/or loved ones.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong sense of ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Preferred 2-4 years of experience in admissions, administration, or operations
- Preferred knowledge of insurance contracts, authorization process, and intake assessments
- Preferred knowledge of Kipu EMR
- Preferred knowledge of Salesforce
Competencies (The Joint Commission Required):
· CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION (Coherent, comprehensive, accurate, & justifies the level of care)
· CRISIS INTERVENTION (Demonstrates ability to respond effectively in an emergency; Facilitates a safe, appropriate intervention in response to client crisis when completed an assessment as applicable)
· CLIENT DE-ESCALATION (Effectively displays & utilizes verbal and non-verbal communication cues i.e. body language when a client is activated within the admissions process)
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensures solid understanding of behavioral healthcare disorders.
- Obtain insurance information, understanding of insurance benefits and verifications, navigating some financial conversations (patient share of cost and upfront collections confirmations),
- Maintain and manage all inquiry calls and internet submissions, promoting MBH services to potential clients and/or loved ones. Provide clients and/or family members with information about trauma, mental health disorders and the various services/programs offered by the facility. Consent with the team for appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Complete initial phone screening and assessments for all potential clients to gauge appropriateness.
- Consistent follow-ups with the client in ensuring communication is consistent and updates are provided to applicable operational teams
- Oversees bed board management, waitlists and organization with assessments
- Forges strategic relationships with the facility operational teams (clinical, intake, case management, alumni and others), MBH leadership team and MBH outreach team
- Engages with Salesforce reporting for ongoing communication and updates with admissions within a timely and organized manner on updates
- Engages with Teams channels reporting for ongoing communication as applicable
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesion
- Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organizations and that emphasizes the identified values of MBH
- Answers admissions phone calls, navigates online inquiries, and connects with potential prospects
- Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organizational information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, Teams, and regular interpersonal communication.
