Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/ Office Manager to oversee our office operations and ensure the smooth functioning of daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day office operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with established accounting principles.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Utilize accounting software, to manage financial transactions and reporting.
- Prepare budgets and grant reports.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Prepare payroll, payroll reporting, and tax documents.
- Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Bookkeeper/Office Manager or in a similar administrative role with a focus on accounting functions.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including debits and credits, tax regulations, and governmental accounting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
