Coating Supervisor:
The Coating Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the painting operations within the manufacturing and upfit plant. This role ensures that all painting activities are performed efficiently, meet quality standards, and adhere to safety regulations. The supervisor will lead a team of paint technicians, coordinate with other departments, and implement continuous improvement processes to enhance productivity and quality.
Essential Duties:
- Supervise and lead a team of coating leads, paint technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee the entire painting process, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to production schedules, communicate shortages and overages. Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Conduct regular inspections, tests, and audits of painted vehicles and components to identify defects and implement corrective actions and ensure while maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations regarding paint, blast and wash usage and disposal.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs by using lean manufacturing techniques.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers and customers. Working with suppliers to stay educated in cutting edge new processes and technology.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of automotive paint processes, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in using painting software and equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
