Monsignor Slade Catholic School, a dynamic and faith-filled PreK-8 school in Glen Burnie, MD, is seeking a passionate and creative Full-Time Art Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will foster a love for artistic expression in students of all ages, integrating faith-based values while providing a comprehensive visual arts education. This position requires enthusiasm for working with young learners and the ability to inspire creativity in a nurturing environment.
Essential Functions
- Plan and implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate art curriculum for students in PreK through 8th grade.
- Create lesson plans that incorporate various artistic mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, etc.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages artistic exploration, critical thinking, and self-expression while upholding the values of a Catholic education.
- Organize and display student artwork throughout the school.
- Maintain and manage art supplies, manage art supply budget to ensure a well-stocked and organized classroom.
- Assess student progress through projects, portfolios, and classroom participation, providing feedback to students and parents.
- Supervise students in a safe and structured learning environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Art Education, Fine Arts, or any related field.
- Maryland State Teacher Certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
Range: $43,700 - 61,600 , Annualized
