Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Masonry and Concrete Contractor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry work, including building structures, concrete finishing, and hardscape installation. This role requires proficiency with various hand tools and power tools, as well as the ability to operate heavy equipment. The Masonry Contractor will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.
This job is a contract basis, 1099, and will be dependent on available workload. The right person could develop into a full-time employee position.
Responsibilities
- Construct, repair, and maintain masonry structures such as walls, patios, light pillars, and walkways.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks to ensure smooth and durable surfaces.
- Install hardscape features including pavers, retaining walls, and decorative stonework.
- Lay tile in various settings, ensuring precision and quality in installation.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various masonry tasks.
- Execute concrete forming processes for foundations and other structures.
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for larger projects.
- Apply caulking to seal joints and gaps in masonry work.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Masonry Contractor or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and materials.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment related to masonry work.
- Owns own tools for this type of work.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and homeowner sketches.
- Ability to use "like" photos to bring the homeowner's vision to life.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
- A valid driver's license
