Bookkeeping Assistant
SUMMARY: The Bookkeeping Assistant will be responsible for supporting the accounting team with multiple tasks. Duties and responsibilities that this position will work with are as follows:
· Accounts Payable Processing
· Accounts Receivable Processing, Collection and Reporting
· Expense Report Processing (Certify) – Verification and Support
· Monthly Closing tasks and basic account reconciliations
· Other tasks and projects as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Preferred two year degree in accounting or bookkeeping and one year of bookkeeping experience (or an equivalent combination of education & experience), however, willing to work with and train the right individual.
General computer knowledge is required, including mid-level proficiency in Excel and familiarity with other common business software. Specific experience with Syteline ERP/Accounting software is a bonus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in small group situations, and to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to verify calculated figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages as generated by system inputs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
