Overview
As the Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes. Supporting the Director of Finance and collaborating with multiple departments, you will manage accounts payable and receivable, process resident billing, and maintain financial records. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vital department while engaging with staff and residents.
Duties
- Process invoices, match and code expenses, and ensure accurate payments.
- Address vendor discrepancies and pursue cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and issue monthly resident bills.
- Record rental payments, perform bank deposits, and follow up on late payments.
- Respond promptly to resident inquiries about their accounts.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations and financial documentation.
- Oversee the monthly POS system closing process, including report reviews and corrections.
- Prepare and distribute checks for vendor payments and resident refunds.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping (healthcare or service industry preferred).
- Proficiency with systems such as Bill.com, Sage/Intacct, PointClickCare, and FullCount is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- Clear and professional communication skills to interact with residents, vendors, and staff.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
