Consultant Project Engineer

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Consultant Project Engineer. The position performs engineering duties to develop and complete up to 20 concurrent transportation related projects with up to 20 separate consulting firms simultaneously.The position is responsible for developing, directing and monitoring state wide diverse and complex projects; developing, negotiating, executing, and administrating consultant contracts state wide; supervising consultant work and performing a variety of other duties as assigned.

Required Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience including project planning, design, or construction
• A minimum of 1 year of supervision or team lead experience
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Montana is required, or Licensure as a Professional Engineer in another state and the ability to obtain a Montana license within 6 months of being hired.
