What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Assistant/Receptionist position at Montana Eyecare?
Work at the front desk of our beautiful building. This person is on the front line at Montana Eyecare. They greet all patients who enter and assist them in any help required.
Work schedule can vary from day to day.
Generally: Mondays and Friday: 8:30am- 5:30pm
Saturdays: 8am-4pm - these are on a rotation - roughly 1-2 a month. Receive the following Sunday and Monday off.
Duties include: Answering the phone, scheduling appointments, taking money (cash, check, credit card), answering statement questions, answering insurance questions, taking contact lens orders, pulling contact boxes and trials from stock, records releases, scanning documents into EHR, directing patients where to go with-in the office, checking patients in for their appointments, collecting insurance cards/photo ID and scanning in, updating patient demographics, submitting exam and contact lens claims to vision insurances, posting charges to patient ledger, attaching correct insurance to posted services alerting our billing company to generate a claim, rescheduling appointments, count out cash drawer on closing shift, minor cleaning duties, locking door at night, carrying shred paper bins, and any other duties as assigned.
